Volunteers are saddened by the unexpected death of Michael Patterson, owner and caretaker of Cerro Gordo Mines and The Cerro Gordo Historical Society.

A memorial service for Mike is scheduled for the late spring or early summer, 2010. Information will be posted on this site as it becomes available.

In the spirit of Mike’s memory, volunteers continue to welcome visitors at Cerro Gordo to maintain and share its history. Volunteers are on site 24/7.

Cerro Gordo is open to day visitors from about 9 a.m-4 p.m weather permitting. Admission is $10 per person.
